Our Story

How We Met

We met in 2021, post-COVID, through the online sales organization we were both part of at the time. Despite living in different parts of the world, it wasn’t until our first in-person retreat that we really connected, and from that moment on, something felt different.
What started as a simple connection...
quickly became something deeper. We chose to be intentional about growing it, even at a distance, and before long began travelling together, first across the U.S. and then to Brazil, where Will met Maithê’s family for the first time.
Eventually, we decided we were done with long distance and moved Maithê to Canada. Over the past year and a half, we settled in Kelowna, close to family and in a place that feels like home.
Now, we’re bringing everyone together in Brazil to celebrate what we’ve built and what’s ahead.

Our First Photo together!

The Proposal

Maithê was born in September, and her birthstone is a sapphire. Early in our relationship, I gave her a sapphire necklace, followed later by a matching pair of earrings. From early on, it felt obvious that her ring would be a sapphire.
The proposal unfolded quietly over the course of a few days. While Maithê was busy with work, I had hidden a series of photo clues throughout her book collection at home. With a few well-timed messages, she followed the trail, thinking she was heading to a special birthday dinner.
Instead, she arrived at a private picnic by the water. My sister and brother-in-law were nearby to capture the moment, and from the blue dress to the sapphire jewelry, every detail came together as planned.
She said yes.
The following day, the plan continued when her parents arrived from Brazil as a complete birthday surprise. They had no idea what had happened the day before. When they saw the ring, the celebration began all over again.

Travel & Stay

Getting to Brazil

Where to Fly
The easiest and most common airport to fly into is:
São Paulo – Guarulhos International Airport (GRU)
This is the main international hub and the best option for most guests.
Another option is:
Viracopos Airport (VCP) in Campinas — a smaller airport that’s closer to the venue but with fewer international flights.

Visa Information
  • U.S., Canadian, and Australian passport holders must apply for a Brazilian e-Visa
  • Please print two copies of your approved visa before travelling
  • UK passport holders do not require a visa
We recommend applying at least two weeks before travel to avoid any delays.
When to Arrive
We suggest arriving in Brazil no later than Friday, October 16, so you have time to rest and settle in before the wedding on October 17.
